Tom Tarlazzi's B string bender

Guest, Tom Tarlazzi modified a whammy bar to flatten the B-string 1/2 step. In open G tuning, this allows you to bar a minor chord.

Guitars for Vets guitar

In positioning the bridge, we noticed some cracks in the finish. We decided to strip the finish and respray the top. The photo on the right below shows a close-up of the jig to help position the bridge. It allows you to attach the strings and adjust the bridge for proper intonation before gluing it down.

Frank's Piano Soundboard Top Guitar

At the last meeting, Frank took the top made from a piano soundboard. We were originally going to use that soundboard in a project guitar but we scrapped that idea, thinking the top was too "floppy." Frank proved us wrong. Not only does the guitar sound great, but he creatively used the crack in the top as a decorative element along with some retro pin-up girl bomber decals.
